Himalayan Roads — 1 Million Views and Counting

Few years back I bought my first GoPro that was used to record the roads I was driving on my various journeys. Having had no experience on how to deal with video footage, I made my first video on iMovie and upload it on a new youtube channel called, Himalayan Roads. To my surprise, a simple video of a car driving from Chandigarh to Shimla was received quite well by the youtube viewers and then I started taking it a little more seriously. I learn’t to use Final Cut Pro X and all the other colour grading softwares and even the skills of filmmaking from numerous articles, videos and books. Last summer when I was on a long trek in Uttarakhand, I came back with yet another surprise, my Pangi video got viral and was picked up and shared by publications like Conde Nast Traveller and even Vogue. It got the channel thousands of subscribers and made me even more serious about the craft of filmmaking.

So for the past many months, few hours of my day are spent learning about the craft. It’ll obviously take a lot more time for me to create something that I am really proud of. So till then, you can watch the progress and give real time feedback through comments on the channel.

I am also helping a lot of my climbing friends with the little knowledge I have and together we’ll be creating a lot more interesting videos in the future.

So if you haven’t already, so do subscribe to my channels on youtube.
